John Vanbibber: married Chloe Standiford in Baltimore; settled in Botentourt County VA; explored the West in 1770. With others trapped, sold catch in Natchez, set out for home. Ambushed and robbed by Cherokees. Without guide or gun he wandered. Tale says he finally happened upon the cabin of DB and RBB on the Holstein [sic]. "This was the beginning of a friendship of these men that lasted for fifty years and was cemented by a marriage of the children and other members of their families."
