Chester Harding to Gov. Ousley [sic], St. Louis, 2/15/1845: <Dear Sir, <I had the [unclear: intention?] of writing you, some time since, on the subject of Col. Boons portrait. at the suggestion of Gov. Morehead, I now wish to say that I shall be in Louisville in the course of a week, on my way East and shall be happy to receive a line from you, directed to the Galt House, informing me of the decision of the Legislature, if any has been made, on the subject of the picture. If it has been decided not to retain the picture you will greatly oblige me by causing the picture to be boxed up safely and sent by stage to the Galt House as soon as will be convenient, and at the same time request the stage driver to pay the charges, and charge the same to me. With great respect &c. I am your obedient sert. <Chester Harding.> Chester Harding, Manuscripts, Kentucky Historical Society.
