Undated, but circa 1810-12: 2: <Shortly after that, was wounded in a siege of [torn] Days at Boonesborough, from thence I moved and Settled a Station of my own on Beargras [?] Creek near The Falls of Ohio, where with a great deal of Deficulty [torn] ind the said Station and on the 2d day of April 1781 [torn] two wounds by the Indians one of them Through [torn] the other Brook one of my arms. [crossed out: Shortly after] I[t] [torn] Rendered me Incapable of Labour but as soon as I [was?] able to Travel I was Elected to Represent the County of Jefferson in the General Assembly during which time my Family and property was Expos'd to the Ravage of the Indians. In 1782 I return'd to my Family and a great Deal of my property Destroyed by the Indians and my constantly doing [?] [next word unclear] on the Frontier caus'd many misfortune to befal me, in in deavouring to suport the Country, and no [unclear word] is that your petitioner has Rec'd Eight Bullet holes [crossed out: Balls] through him and has been in seventeen ingagments with the Indians in suport of his Country and Lost his property by unforeseen actidents and Indians afore said and the many wound that your Petitioner has Rec'd rendere him incapable of Labour for a suport.
