Notes from the markers on the SQUIREBSR and SARAHMORGANB graves in Mocksville, Davie county NC. 10/4/1750: Squire Boone rec'd land warrant & survey of 640 acres in Davie county. 8/14/1756: DB and Rebecca began to reside on Bryan property at the forks of Sugartree Creek; there until 1764. Squire Boone died in 1765 at 69 years; Sarah died 1777 at 77 years. This quote on the marker: <Daniel Boone the archetypal frontiersman, acquired in Davie County the experience, endurance, resourcefulness, and expertness with the rifle which enabled him to become the great explorer and pioneer settler of the trans-Appalachian American West.> Howell Boone, chairman, 250 Anniversary committee, 1984.
