(Continued from Roll 2_8) Monroe details the duties of both Agents and Interpreters, as well as miscellaneous regulations. Agents are required to <receive all Indians belonging to the tribes of their respective care as they arrive>. Agents are also responsible for obtaining information from the Indians, making sure that all of their provisions have been issued to them, and to act as a "middle-man" of sorts between the Native Americans and the Governor. They must also report any and all people who are trying to turn the Indians against the United States Government. Interpreters are responsible for reporting anyone who sells whiskey to the Indians and to maintain the general safety of the Native Americans from injury by themselves or others. They are also to report to any meeting where provisions are being issued to the Native Americans.
