This letter contains correspondence related to Lists of the Families of Godfroy and Richardville. Sinclair says that the list of one of the family members includes adopted members. Another list includes 5 names that were not included in previous lists, but the man Sinclair employed to make the lists is confident they are truly family members. The other lists are perfect, according the Sinclair. Sinclair states he has <not yet been able to make a complete list of that portion of the tribe who are to remove,> but he will work on it more when they are assembled for removal.

Sinclair also brings up a letter from Crawford from September 8, 1842 <on the subject of the removal of the few areas yet remaining in this country,> and if the Department directs it, Sinclair has no doubt they can be removed. Sinclair also mentions that he has a feeling families comprised of Miami married to outsiders will refuse to go, and he asks Medill what he would advise in these cases. Sinclair says that on the evening he wrote this letter he was to meet with the Indians and the removal Contractor to discuss the removal process.
