To enable McKenney to obtain credit at the War Department for the amount of merchandize that was given different Indian Agents as annuities and presents, it is necessary that a copy of each invoice is receipted by the agent under whom the goods are to be distributed. McKenney is very anxious to have the accounts sent in for settlement before the end of the year. He begs Cass to do him the favor of making copies of the invoices sent to him to be made. He then wishes Cass to transmit them to McKenney with the receipts attached. Mckenney wishes this to be done as soon as it is possible for Cass to do so.
