(Started on Roll 2_24) Baptiste writes a memorandum about a <journey from Detroit to Fort Wayne through the Indian Country ... to carry the memo of peace to the Indian tribes west of Detroit by order of William Woodbridge>. Baptiste is an interpreter for the Potawatomies. He offered any Indians he came across wampum. Baptiste learns that there has been a <premium> set by the British for his scalp, along with John Kinzie. The British are trying to convince the Indians that Chandonnai and Kinzie, along with Americans in general, are their worst enemies. The British (Cadott) are telling the Indians that Chandonnai and Kinzie are <spies not friends>.
