This is a very short letter written by John Johnston which seems to just be about something that he forgot in his last letter. Johnston talks about how a made a deal with another agent who <has excellent standing with everyone there>. Johnston then goes to speak on how all of the annuities have been paid and the claims have all been settled <to the first of the month>. It seems that annuities have started to come for the Agency and the Indians in this area of Upper Sandusky for this time period. When Johnston talks about how the agent knows everyone there, he seems to be talking about a group of Indians. The annuities and claims were a major part of history for the Indians and the Agency's. This is the first mention that I have come across but this seems to be pretty important if Johnston wrote a whole letter just to say that. Johnston's tone throughout the letter makes him seem like he is very happy with the way things turned out.
