Stickney, having arrived in Fort Meigs only the day before, writes to Cass that he is traveling to Washington, but must stop due to a fever. He took his path through Northern Ohio to stop at Upper Sandusky, to pay a number of Wyandott Warriors. He has been waiting for the Wyandotts to travel to him, but they have not, and he feels as if he must close his accounts with the War Department. He then notes that a W. Walker pasted through Upper Sandusky a week prior on his way to Detroit, and asks Cass to request Walker's return to Upper Sandusky. He closes with the fact that only his wife knows the journey goes beyond Fort Meigs, and that he cannot write anymore.
