Puthuff reports to Cass that an expedition to Green Bay, led by Col. Miller, met no resistance from any Indians. He also notes the Indians up there are friendly, and don't mind the presence of Americans in Green Bay or Chicago. Puthuff is now engaged in gathering information on all the trading posts in the area. The information includes how many foreigners visit, how many natives visit, and what goods are introduced there. He also requests goods to be sent to Green Bay and Chicago. Puthuff concludes by passing thanks from a Col. McDougall for goods sent to him.
