Lewis Cass writing to W.H. Crawford to recommend present time for taking action and subordinating the Indians in his quarter.
2 reasons why the Indians are dissatisfied with the US currently, 1) they do not like how their land is being taken and 2) people with little Indian connection are serving in the Indian Department.
Recommends a man to be integrated with the Indians to go to each agency and find out grievances and any plans of action against the U.S.
Recommends Col. Anthony Butler be put in charge of part of a local quarter, believing there will be immediate benefit.
