Sinclear also mentions, for the first time, the deaths of two Miamis. The two individuals seem to have contracted some sort of illness, and were afforded every treatment possible by the physician. According to Sinclear, they were given a proper burial.

In this letter, Sinclear also asks Medill to give orders as to where the Miamis are supposed to settle. The tone of the letter (and previous letters) suggests that nobody aboard the ships (including Sinclair himself) knows where exactly they are taking the Miamis.
