Cass writes to Gen. John Mason, Superintendent of Indian Trade, to inform him that he has sent an invoice for an order of presents for the Indians in Detroit. He stresses the importance of the proportions of the goods and the quality. The Indians compare the quality of the goods the US Government gives them with the goods the British trade them. Indians have used British goods for so long, they're reluctant to start using US goods now. Requests better packaging for the goods going forward.
