In this letter to William Medill, Alexis Coquillard writes to confirm that there is, in fact, a group of 30 Miamis that stayed behind to tend to their crops in Kosciusko County. Coquillard visited the group of Miamis, and told them that they must be removed. The group was unwilling to leave, as their crops had not yet been harvested. Coquillard states that he has a large camp set up in Miami County near the group of Miamis, plus a group of hired hands to assist with the removal of the Miamis.
