John Kenzie to Lewis Cass, January 25th, 1817
Sometime before the arrival of Mr. Riley, Kenzie made arrangements with the Agent of this post, and M. Varrum to serve as interpreter. Kenzie relinquished his trading with the Indians, despite his heavy stock in it. He says that is he will be extremely disappointed and embarrassed if this backfires on him. He confides the information to Cass and will wait for an answer from M. Jouett the Indian Agent.
