The writer says he received a letter from the War Department by the Secretary of War. He says that all of the Indian Agencies of Chicago, Green Bay, Mackinae, Fort Wayne, and Piqua are under Cass' Superintendency. The writer states bills he has, such as a blacksmith striker and interpreters. He can raise most of the money, but not all of what he thinks is needed. He says he will have to fire his blacksmith and interpreter to meet the budget moving forward. The writer says he has not heard from many Indians this spring, but expects to see many soon.
