John Riley is sent with an interpreter to Fort Gratiot to receive instructions. Pelham feels Cass already understands Indian affairs, so doesn't have anything he needs to update him on. He says funds are limited, but says Cass is able to send provisions as needed. He says if any Indian of <"peculiar good conduct"> is sent to him in Detroit, the Indian will get the goods he asks for.
