Butler has just returned from Sandusky, but needs to know the earliest the <"Treaty"> can happen so that can provide the needed supplies. He says the Indians have very few provisions and are <"quite destitute">. Because of this, he says it should be easy to accomplish the goals Cass has with respects to the Sandusky Indians. He recommends the treaty be signed at Rocky Fork in order to make them <"less disturbed">. Solomon Smith undertakes the contract (presumably for the treaty provisions with Butler).
