John Johnston to Lewis Cass, May 29, 1817

Johnston says he is told the annuities are funneled through Detroit, and that he expects them to be delivered at the Treaty. He also recommends that the treaty should be signed in the bottom half of Ohio so that the majority of Indians it concerns can attend (since they mostly live in that area) and receive their annuities. He says the Delawares do not seem to be appropriated any annuities but doesn't understand why. He has assigned an Indian to a Surveyor in order for them to explain the nature of this.
