Armstrong notifies Cass that Cass has been appointed as a commissioner to deal with the <North Western Indians>. Cass will be working with General Harrison and Governor Shelby. General Harrison reports that several agents have been told to <assemble the Indians on the 20th of June>. General Harrison will notify Cass of the time and place at which they will meet.
In the spring of 2019, Dr. Cameron Shriver’s “Intro to the Miami Tribe” students researched the records of the Superintendent of Indian Affairs in the Michigan District (which included the Miami Tribe in northern Indiana) and files of the Office of Indian Affairs related to Miami Removal to west of the Mississippi River in 1846.
